Just a few personal words about us today. We are a two person team, Carol and Andreas Kraemer. The nice thing about working in a team of two people with similar backgrounds is that if one person does not have the answer to a certain problem, the other usually does. And in our household, that is usually Carol :-)
We are from very different backgrounds. Carol was born and raised in Mexico while I grew up in Germany. We met at Thunderbird, School of Global Management, where we both graduated with an MBA in Finance. After many years with investment banks and global energy companies we decided to put out our own sign and go it alone. That turned out to be a great decision. We truly enjoy what we are doing and love working with different clients every day. The best thing about it is that we learn something new every day. In our view, once you stop having the desire for knowledge and learning, you might as well be dead.
We spent most of our time on the Central Coast of California and commute from time to time to Houston. The consulting job can be travel intensive, but we made the experience that travel typically comes in waves. There are times when we travel for weeks, but there are also times where we can enjoy long stretches of being at home.
One very unique thing about us is our international background. Besides English, we speak Spanish, German and some Portuguese. With global M&A becoming more and more important, we have a significant edge over others as we can offer our services in many countries around the world. The other, less tangible thing, is that we are able to include non-English speaking research into our work. This also allows us to expand our horizon beyond the mainstream news from CNN and the US networks. It is very interesting to see how differently the media in Europe and the US reports about certain events.
We hope this gives you a first glance into our private lives. We'll continue to write about that from time to time so that you can get to know us a little bit better.
